Brake Disc

A disc brake is a form of brake that generates friction by pressing pairs of pads up against a disc or "rotor" using calipers. This procedure slows the rotation of a shaft, such as an axle of a vehicle, either to slow down the rotation or to keep it still.

Disc brakes are typically employed in passenger cars. Still, they are progressively making their way into the commercial vehicle market, where drum brakes were formerly preferred for their longer lifespan due to their consistent performance at higher speeds and resistance to brake fade.
